The Base mainnet has suffered a "major outage," according to the blockchain’s status page.

"We have identified the issue with a problematic block interfering with subsequent block building," Base posted at 16:52 UTC on Thursday.

"The team is working on several threads to remediate and we will continue to post updates as soon as we have them."

According to the status page, Base’s block production became "unhealthy" around 16:03 UTC after a problematic block interrupted subsequent block building, described as "Unsafe Head Stall." New blocks are now not being produced reliably, though the chain may not be entirely paused.

Deposits and withdrawals have also been affected while transactions are delayed or stalled, according to the page.
