It struck in the middle of an at-bat. Following a 1-2 pitch in the top of the first inning, a batter signals a timeout to the home plate umpire, and the official and the catcher quickly remove their facemasks. After a moment of confusion, the game came to a halt and the video shows fans and players spilling onto the field. The camera capturing the images also relayed the shaking. At the same time, light poles surrounding the ballpark could be seen swaying, and the stadium’s public address system appears to tremble as the camera cuts to footage of two helmets. Another quake struck 39 seconds later — registering at a magnitude of 7.5.
