Members of the Cauvery Rights Retrieval Committee on Thursday held a demonstration on Anna Salai in Puducherry over the proposed Mekedatu dam project of the Karnataka government. The demonstration was held to oppose the Karnataka government’s proposal for constructing a balancing reservoir across the Cauvery river at Mekedatu. Members of the committee urged the Puducherry government to adopt a resolution in the Assembly to express the Union Territory’s opposition to the project.
