The Ogun State Police Command has announced the arrest of three suspects over the gruesome murder of retired Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Madam Olakitan Oyesiku and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo, at the woman’s residence in Ogun State, disclosing that the prime suspect, a former employee of the deceased, confessed that the attack was carried out to teach her a lesson.
The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, disclosed this on Thursday during a press briefing held at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, where he gave an update on the progress of the investigation into the double murder, the recovery of the deceased’s vehicle through technical tracking, the forensic examination of a handwritten note allegedly left behind by the attackers, and the arrest of all suspects directly linked to the crime.
Addressing journalists, CP Ojajuni said the tragic incident came to the attention of the police on June 21, 2026, at about 4:00 p.m., after a report was made at Owode-Egba Police Station concerning suspicious developments at the residence of Madam Oyesiku.
According to him, preliminary information available to the police showed that the front door of the residence had been partially damaged, while the security house inside the compound was found locked, a development that immediately prompted police intervention.
