June 25 (UPI) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves agreed to trade Naz Reid and several draft picks to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for LaMelo Ball and Josh Green, a league source told UPI on Thursday.

The Hornets will receive a 2033 unprotected first-round pick and second-round picks in 2029, 2032 and 2033. The Hornets and Timberwolves also agreed to swap three first-round picks in 2028, 2029 and 2030.

Ball, 24, averaged 20.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game through 72 appearances last season. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft averaged a career-high 25.2 points, 7.4 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game over 47 starts in 2024-25. Ball, a 2021-22 All-Star, logged 20.8 points, 7.3 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game over his first six seasons.

He is under contract through 2028-29, with respective salaries of $40.7 million, $43.5 million and $46.3 million over the next three seasons.
