The National Sports Commission (NSC) is set to spend about N1.1 billion on consultancy services linked to the construction and completion of mini sports centres.

According to details published on payment portal, Govspend, the sports centres would be built across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones.

The record indicates that the commission has already paid N332.993 million to Freund Limited as the first tranche of the consultancy contract.

According to the payment description, the money was released on May 12, 2026, as: "Being 30% payment of appropriation released for pre-consultancy services for construction/completion of mini sports centres across six (6) geo-political zones in the country."
