The Wavy Whirl – Tropical Cyclone at Aquatopia Water Park differs from traditional water slides by using water currents rather than gravity alone to propel riders through the course.
Instead of a continuous downhill descent, visitors ride single- or multi-person rafts through changing currents that create varying speeds, sudden turns, and swirling movements.
According to the operator Sun World Hon Thom, the raft's movement changes throughout the ride, producing a different experience on each run.
