RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has arrived in Bahrain to attend a meeting of ministers from the GCC and US.
The gathering will focus on strategic cooperation and common priorities, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The meeting comes less than a week after the US and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding to halt their war that engulfed the Middle East for over 100 days and affected several GCC capitals.
Prince Faisal was received in Manama by Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani. Also present were Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, the Saudi ambassador to Bahrain, and officials from Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Kuwait, where he participated in a flag-raising ceremony at the US Embassy, which resumed operations on Wednesday.
