Firefighters respond to blaze at central Auckland restaurant

Firefighters are extinguishing a fire at a central Auckland restaurant and bar that started in a commercial kitchen.A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said the fire on Fort Street had been contained by sprinklers, but there we still several crews working at the scene.The spokesperson said the fire had mostly been put out, but crews were working on the last hotspots and starting on the salvage operation.The fire had started in a commercial kitchen, and six fire trucks had been sent to the scene, he said.Everyone in the building has been evacuated and accounted for, he said.
