A court has awarded Denmark’s largest digital infrastructure provider 80 million kroner (£9.2m) in compensation from the Danish government for a security order to rip out fibre-optic equipment from China’s Huawei.
The Copenhagen-based Eastern High Court ruled on Wednesday that Danish authorities were within their legal rights to order TDC NET to remove Huawei equipment in its fibre-optic network.
But it said that the order amounted to an expropriation, and as such TDC was entitled to compensation.
