MILAN — The reshuffle continues at Flos B&B Italia. On Wednesday the firm said Pablo Illueca has been promoted to the role of chief executive officer of Italian lighting firm Flos.
Illueca originally joined Flos in 2012 and rose to the top role of Valencia-based architectural lighting specialist Antares, which produces Flos’ Architectural solutions and which Flos took over in the early 2000s. Since 2022, Illueca has also served as Flos’ environmental, social and governance ambassador.
Amid a period of sweeping changes at parent company Flos B&B Italia Group, Illueca is the third CEO Flos has seen in the top role in under three years. In April, Matteo Luoni left to lead design firm Calligaris Group. Roberta Silva stepped down as CEO of Flos in May 2024.
Piero Gandini, son of Sergio Gandini who purchased Flos in 1964 and pioneered its zenith, was appointed executive chairman of the entire conglomerate in 2025, after veteran luxury executive Daniel Lalonde stepped down in December 2024. Piero Gandini had long been CEO of Flos before his departure in 2019, after Flos joined Design Holding in 2018 when funds Investindustrial and the Carlyle Group formed the holding company.
In June 2025, Gandini said that while he is focused on bolstering each brand, he’s also open to offers for heritage furnishing firms B&B Italia, Maxalto, Arclinea, Azucena, Audo Copenhagen and lighting firms Flos and Louis Poulsen.
