EFL and Carabao Cup set for major change this season as fixtures released

Major schedule shift: The upcoming domestic campaign will feature a highly unusual restructuring of the traditional footballing calendar.

For the 2026/27 season, the Carabao Cup first round will take place before the regular EFL league fixtures begin.

Fixture release date: Fans do not have to wait long to discover exactly who their respective teams will be playing.

The full schedule across the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two will be officially published on Thursday at 12pm.

Preliminary round draw : A special Carabao Cup preliminary round featuring York City, Crawley Town, Tranmere Rovers and Rochdale was drawn earlier in June.
