In the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Russian occupiers have launched a series of propaganda leaflets in the style of wrappers for popular chewing gum, in which they romanticize life under wartime conditions.
The National Resistance Center stated this on its website, Ukrinform reports.
"Occupation resources have begun spreading a series of cynical propaganda illustrations in the style of the well-known Love is... chewing gum, dedicated to life in the occupied cities of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Through cute cartoon characters, the occupiers are trying to normalize the horrific living conditions, lack of security, and humanitarian crisis that they themselves brought to the region," the statement said.
In one of these leaflets, for example, a boy is carrying heavy water jugs under the slogan "Donbas is when you fetched water without being reminded." In this way, the occupiers cynically turn the long-standing lack of centralized water supply in the cities of the coal region into a sign of care.
The most cynical leaflet shows a couple sitting under a blanket in front of the Donbas Arena, while combat UAVs fly in the sky. In this way, local residents are being conditioned to constant fear, turning the fighting into everyday routine.
