Silo season 3 premieres next week on Apple TV (watch here), with three major changes coming that have been highlighted in the season’s marketing. Spoilers ahead, but only those Apple has already revealed.
#1: Split-timeline plot will explore the world pre-silos
Silo is based on a trilogy of novels by Hugh Howey. Seasons 1 and 2 both covered only the first book. But rather than moving directly to book 2 in season 3, Silo’s next two seasons will interweave events from books 2 and 3.
That’s because book 2 takes place primarily in the past, exploring the origins of the silos. Whereas book 3 focuses on Juliette and the rest of the characters we already know.
So unlike Silo’s first two seasons, season 3 won’t be stuck in the drab, dark environment of the silos. Instead, much of it will take place out in the world before the silos even existed.
