(Image credit: Future)Securing 4 stars from our panel of (picky) mattress testers, the Bear Elite Hybrid has a lot to offer.Firstly, it's infused with Celliant fibres that suck up heat, pull it away from the body, then quickly shed it through the mattress surface. The result? A temperature neutral sleep surface free of any heat pools. My fellow mattress testers all agreed that the Bear Elite felt comfortably cool through our thermal tests, and I can vouch that it stays impressively temperature neutral even in a heat-trapping attic bedroom during summer nights (with my trusty Aecooly fan at my bedside). In terms of support and comfort, our subjective and objective tests indicate the Bear Elite Hybrid is sturdy yet cushioning enough for side and back sleeping thanks to the combination of foams and coils. However, our front-sleeping tester, Ruth Jones, noticed a small amount of pressure in her lower back when lying prone. Hence, if you're a strict stomach sleeper, you may want to consider a firmer cooling bed like the Siena Signature Mattress. What's more, particularly restless couples or people with limited mobility who need sturdy edges to push off from to get out of bed, may want to reconsider the Bear Elite Hybrid. Why? Our testers could feel one another moving next to each other on the bed. "If I was on the brink of sleep and the other person suddenly shifted, I'd likely wake up," Ruth noted.Additionally, the Bear Elite Hybrid scored just 2.5 out of 5 in our edge support tests as the foot and sides of the bed collapsed in slightly more when weight was applied compared to other top-scoring mattresses like the Saatva Classic. All in all, if you're a hot side or back sleeper with no other notable sleep issues, you're sure to sleep peacefully on the Bear Elite Hybrid Mattress — I certainly have.On a tighter budget?
