But while that model is powered by a 4-core Intel N150 processor, the new Pro version comes with either an Intel Core i3-N305 or Core 3 N350 8-core chip that should deliver a significant performance boost.Like the older model, this is a NAS with support for a lot of storage. It has 4 bays for 3.5 inch hard drives and 3 M.2 2280 slots with support for PCIe 3.0 x1 SSDs, allowing you to configure the system with up to 152TB of total storage. Retail prices are expected to start at $700, but during Prime Day you can pick up an entry-level model for $560.That’s the price for a model with an Intel Core i3-N305 Alder Lake-N processor and 8GB of RAM. There’s also a version with a newer Core 3 N350 Twin Lake processor and 16GB of RAM priced at $800 (there’s no Prime Day sale on this model). Both versions support up to 32GB of single-channel non-ECC memory and have a set of ports that includes:2 x 5 GbE LAN1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (10 Gbps)3 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (10 Gbps)1 x HDMI (for terminal output only)1 x DC power inputThe F4-425 Pro has an aluminum alloy chassis that measures 150 x 181 x 219mm (5.91″ x 7.13″ x 8.62″) and features a 120mm system fan inside. The NAS comes with a 90W power supply.TerraMaster also claims that the system runs the “world’s first AI-native operating system,” which is certainly a questionable claim on multiple fronts. But for better or worse, it sounds like the Linux-based TOS 7 that ships with the system includes OpenClaw integration out of the box, enabling natural language interaction with the NAS, among other things. But you can also use it for basic storage and file server applications.
