Did I consider the Dyson for my home? Yes. My mom had one previously, and I used hers all the time. Did it pick up well? Yes. Was the cordless feature nice? Sure! My problems with it were the battery and the weight. The Dyson may be a stick vac, but it feels much heavier than it looks. Also, the battery died after every use. Like, huh?
This cordless stick vacuum here is under $100, picks up debris from my carpeted second floor well, and it's dang-near light as a feather. I also did two separate cleaning sessions at its full size, two separate sessions in its handheld form (for my baseboards) and vacuumed out my car with it before it died over the course of two weeks or so.
It's worth every penny in my opinion. And it's a cute color to boot. Get it while it's only $75 for Prime Day or forever hold your heavy-for-no-reason Dyson, I guess.
