June 24 (UPI) -- Frank Carone, one-time chief of staff to former New York City Mayor Eric Adams, was arrested Wednesday in connection with an alleged bribery scheme.
Carone and his brother, Anthony Carone, were arrested at their homes by FBI agents early Wednesday morning, The New York Times, Politico and NBC 4 New York reported, citing unnamed sources.
The charges against the brothers, as well as a hotel owner and hotel employee who were also arrested, have not been released as of Wednesday morning. Charges are being filed in New York's Eastern District court.
Arthur Aidala, an attorney for Carone, confirmed that he has been indicted.
