Workplaces have evolved significantly over the years, and artificial intelligence (AI) is accelerating this transformation. Professionals must be prepared to adapt to these changes and continuously upgrade their skills, said K.S. Prabhoda, Assistant General Manager (Human Resources), Cardolite Specialty Chemicals India LLP, and chairman of National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), Mangaluru Chapter.He was speaking after inaugurating the annual HR Conclave with the theme “Changing Workplace Dynamics and Culture” organised by the Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), Bondel, here recently. The conclave was aimed at strengthening industry-institute interaction and preparing MBA students for evolving workplace demands. The event brought together HR professionals, industry leaders, faculty members, and students.Tracing the transformation of workplaces over the past three decades, from conventional office-based work to remote and hybrid models, Mr. Prabhoda said AI is now driving another major shift in work culture, influencing how organisations operate, collaborate and manage talent.Presiding over the programme, Institute Correspondent and retired General Manager of Corporation Bank K.V. Raghav Kamath noted that AI-powered tools are transforming the way people work, communicate, learn and make decisions and urged students to embrace technological change while remaining adaptable.A panel discussion on the theme “New Labour Codes and Designing High-Performance Work without High Burnout Costs” followed the inaugural session.The panellists discussed changing workplace expectations, the growing importance of flexibility, and the need for accountability, performance, and continuous learning.
