A refurbished chateau in south-west France could be yours for a mere €440,000 (plus upkeep costs, of course).

A British family has put the château de Vilhonneur, in Charente, up for sale. On a 1.3-hectare estate, it combines medieval heritage with modern comforts, and is on the market for €440,000.

Parts of the refurbished listed historic monument in Moulins-sur-Tardoire date as far back as the 12th century, while the main square keep – which has been renovated and converted into a ‘holiday home’, according to the literature, was built in the 15th century.
