Cloud storage provider Backblaze has signed a major deal with AI cloud CoreWeave.The contract, valued at $355 million, will see Backblaze providing CoreWeave with multiple exabytes of storage capacity to support the cloud company's managed storage infrastructure.Backblaze technology supports HDD-based storage tiers in CoreWeave AI Object Storage, and customers using the service with the LOTA distributed cache will have immediate access.“Storage is the foundation every AI workflow is built on — without it, even the world’s most powerful compute sits idle,” said Gleb Budman, co-founder and CEO, Backblaze.Budman added: "This collaboration demonstrates how our platform can help organizations meet growing infrastructure demands.”According to Backblaze, the company's B2 Cloud Storage is already serving more than 100,000 customers worldwide.The two have an existing relationship, having signed an agreement in September 2023. CoreWeave also works with storage provider and AI OS company Vast Data.Backblaze is headquartered in San Mateo, California, and was founded in 2007. In March 2025, it selected Cologix's TOR3 data center in Toronto, Canada, to host its sovereign storage services in the country. The company also leases capacity at Nautilus' floating data center in Stockton, California.
