With all eyes on the World Cup, the transfer window has taken a little bit of a pause during the group stage.Transfers are still happening, deals are still being negotiated, and moves are still being plotted, but to a lesser degree than a normal summer. It is no different for the U.S. national team. All 26 players are firmly focused on the tournament at hand, but at some point this summer, a number of players will be in the shop window. The longer the USMNT remains alive and relevant, the more exposure they will get. As ever with such scenarios, some may move, some won’t.Here’s the latest on USMNT players in the transfer window this summer:Folarin BalogunFolarin Balogun is expected to leave AS Monaco this summer, as reported by The Athletic’s David Ornstein. Balogun’s contract is up in two years, and there are no talks over a new deal.AS Monaco has not put a price tag on Balogun, sources say, but the belief is a fee in the region of €50million (£43.2m; $57.1M) is what may get a deal done. There have been no bids to Monaco yet, but initial contact from numerous clubs, including a number of Premier League sides, a source adds.Balogun, who turns 25 in July, joined Monaco from Arsenal in a deal worth an initial €30m plus €10m in add-ons, plus a 17.5 percent sell-on clause, in 2023. He has registered 31 goals in 91 appearances across all competitions for Monaco.Christian Pulisic returns to USMNT training Tom BogertChristian PulisicChristian Pulisic may be at an inflection point this summer. He has 12 months left on his deal — plus AC Milan has the option to extend a further 12 months — as the team goes through a massive restructuring.Without Champions League soccer, and two years left on his deal, Pulisic could be targeted by other clubs this summer. For now, sources say he is focused solely on the U.S. national team and the World Cup. Ruben Amorim took over as head coach after Max Allegri was let go as a new era starts in Milan, plus the future of Rafael Leao is one to watch.Pulisic was one of Serie A’s best players over the first few months, but he, like others at AC Milan, finished the season on a downturn of form, failing to score after December. The American winger still finished with a respectable eight goals and six assists in 1,611 Serie A minutes last year. He’ll no doubt want to better all three figures next season.
