Following up Monday’s teasing announcement, Passion Paris and ADN have confirmed they have entered into co-production on an animated series adaptation of the globally acclaimed webtoon “Hero Killer,” to be helmed by “Moonlit Bamboo Forest” director David Pagaille.

The announcement was made today at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and joins a strong line-up of Passion Pictures projects presented at this year’s edition.

Based on the hit action-fantasy webtoon published by Jaedam Media and created by writer Kkulbeol and illustrator Beolkkul, “Hero Killer” is one of the most successful action titles on Naver Webtoon, the largest South Korean digital comic and webtoon platform.

“‘Hero Killer’ immediately captured our imagination,” shared Caroline Audebert, managing director of Passion Paris. “It’s a bold, emotionally charged story with a fascinating heroine at its centre. At Passion, we’re always looking for projects that push us forward creatively and ‘Hero Killer’ offers a rare combination of cinematic action, compelling characters and an expansive universe. We’re thrilled to be working with ADN and our partners to bring this remarkable property to the screen and introduce it to audiences around the world.”
