Arnold's reaction followed the release of a report by the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief led by Professor Nazila Ghanea, after a 12-day fact-finding visit to Nigeria.

Humanitarian worker and United States based missionary, Mike Arnold, has vehemently criticised a recent United Nations report on freedom of religion or belief in Nigeria, accusing the global body of downplaying what he described as widespread religious persecution and mass killings across the country.

Arnold's reaction followed the release of a report by the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief led by Professor Nazila Ghanea, after a 12-day fact-finding visit to Nigeria.

In a statement accompanied by a graphic highlighting, alleged casualties, displacement figures and church destructions linked to violence in Nigeria, shared on X handle on Tuesday, Arnold dismissed the report's conclusion that there was no evidence of religious persecution in the country.

The UN just released a report from a twelve-day Nigeria "investigation" by its Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief. Finding: no evidence of religious persecution.
