On the night of June 24, drones attacked Russia’s Orenburg region, where, according to reports from local social media groups, Gazprom’s local helium and gas processing plants may have been hit.

According to Ukrinform, The Moscow Times reported this, citing social media.

The attack on the Russian region was reported by its governor, Yevgeny Solntsev. According to him, several drones were shot down “over an industrial facility in the regional capital.” Based on preliminary data, no one was injured, the governor wrote on his Telegram channel, without providing details of the attack.

According to Ukrainian monitoring resources citing local chat groups, the Orenburg Helium Plant (Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg LLC) and the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant were targeted. Both are part of the PJSC Gazprom and are the largest enterprises in the industry.

According to the Supernova Telegram channel, at least three fire outbreaks occurred at the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant, which is part of the Orenburg gas-chemical complex—the world’s largest, processing 37.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year. According to the Telegram channel Exilenova+, satellites have also detected multiple fire points on the plant’s grounds.
