With the summer season in full swing and the 4th of July celebrations close by, I’ve been putting some new smart solar string lights through their paces to see if they are party-worthy.And from what I’ve experienced, they have just the right vibe for every celebration. What’s more, Govee’s Smart Solar String lights are $69 right now, with a 30% saving during the Prime Day summer sale.Having tested a stack of solar lights for Tom’s Guide, these Govee string lights are the first smart solar lights I’ve put to the test. I’ll admit I’m a bit of a luddite when it comes to app controls, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun I had customizing the color vibe. You get 8 traditional-styled LED bulbs, spaced over 33ft, that can be powered either by the sun, or via a USB-C cable. And the pack comes with cable ties, to make it easy to hang the lights along a fence, across a balcony or a pergola. These really are the ultimate solar string lights. Apart from the sturdy solar panel, which eliminates the need for electrical cables and lets you position your lights wherever you want, both at home and away, you can create whatever mood you desire through the Govee Home App.Choose a single color from the RGBW color wheel, or opt for one of the modes to mix it up. What's more, the music mode even has a built-in mic to sync the lights with the beat. And to make sure you don't annoy the neighbors, you can set a timer to switch the lights on and off as you wish. They only problem you might have, is getting carried away with the endless possibilities that you miss out on what's really going on.
