Bajaj Auto, the world’s biggest manufacturer of three-wheeled auto-rickshaws, said it has been affected by a ransomware attack that also affected its technology subsidiary, Bajaj Auto Technology.
In a regulatory filing, the company, which is part of India’s Bajaj Group, said the incident occurred at around 8 a.m. local time on 23 June and that it immediately launched precautionary and respones measures to mitigate the effects of the hack.

Mitigation measures
“Immediately upon becoming aware of the incident, the technical team of the Company along with cyber-security experts and the management responded promptly and initiated necessary precautionary actions and protocols to mitigate the impact of this incident,” Bajaj stated in the filing.
