Molly Smith and Tom Clare are set to get married in Majorca this summer, despite having met at Love Island's South African villa, and they exclusively fill Mirror in on the secrets08:06, 24 Jun 2026Updated 08:06, 24 Jun 2026Of all the UK’s dating shows, Love Island has proved the most successful. Since the first series in 2015, it has spawned no less than eight long-term relationships, four engagements, five marriages and a whopping 12 babies. One of those engagements is between Molly Smith and Tom Clare, who met on the 2024 All Stars series and fell hard. Now, they’re preparing to get married on the island of Majorca, and have been keeping fans updated by following in the footsteps of Sophie Habboo and Jamie Laing, with their own NearlyWeds podcast…“We just keep saying how quick time is flying by!” Molly, 32, tells Mirror, shortly after her hen do. “We’ve been so excited for the hen and stag and now it’s done. All I’ve heard is how much Tom needs to go back to Vegas and see the stags again because he’s just got serious holiday blues!”Tom says, laughing, “It’s true – I had proper blues when I got home.” While Molly’s hen – which featured a very tasteful mix of wellness and partying – wasn’t shared much with the public, Tom’s debauched Vegas bash was posted all over Instagram. One hilarious snap saw Tom and all his friends, including fellow Love Islanders Casey O’Gorman and Mitch Taylor, don bright pink, tiny trunks with Molly’s face on them.Reminded of said shorts, Molly grimaces, “When I got back off my hen Tom had left them on my bedside table for me to come home to. I was like, ‘I’ll burn them!’”Tom, 26, is quick to explain that he had nothing to do with getting them made. “I had no input whatsoever,” he insists. “I put my full trust in Casey.“I’m a bit of a control freak,” he adds. “I like to know what’s going on but I didn’t know anything at all. I was nervous but he knows what I like and he knows what I don’t like. In the end, there was nothing I would have changed. I think Casey was destined to be a best man. I think he killed it.”Casey will be joined at the wedding by several other former Islanders, including Mitch, Josh Ritchie and Sophie Piper, proving that behind-the-scenes, solid friendships are made in the famous villa. “You’re in there with people 24/7,” Molly says. “It’s inevitable that you make connections with people.”With the stag and hen dos out of the way, Tom and Molly have little left to do before jetting off to Majorca in August, to say ‘I do’. Asked why they picked Majorca, the original home of Love Island – though they met at a villa in South Africa – they explained that it was down to a mixture of factors, including Tom’s battle with seasonal depression.“We wanted to get married in Majorca, because that’s where it all began, even if it’s not where we met,” Tom explains. “Obviously, you’ve got to think about family members and how easy it is to get there when they’ve played a big part in it…” Molly jumps in to add that they looked at other venues in destinations like France and Italy but “fell in love” with the Majorcan place they’re renting. But a destination was always the plan, “because of the weather”.“I’m happiest when the sun is shining,” Tom admits. Her other half, Molly explains, gets “serious seasonal depression” and can get quite down when the weather is gloomy. “Yeah, it’s really bad,” Tom sighs. As such, they needed to make sure the weather would be good so that Tom could enjoy their special day to the fullest. Of course, he smiles, he would enjoy the day regardless, as he is marrying the love of his life. That’s been his ethos throughout the planning stage too.“It’s one of the most important days of our lives and I wanted to just fully enjoy it and just fully embrace it because it only comes around once,” he says. “I just wanted to get stuck in. We want it to be perfect, and welcome everyone that we love there to have the best time.”The wedding planning wasn’t completely smooth sailing, though – despite Tom’s willingness to get involved. Both he and Molly admit it could get “stressful” at points, and there was, confesses Tom, a bit of a “wobble” about fairy lights.“When I saw the fairy light cost and stuff like that – let’s just say, there were a few questionable things! But we were very much on the same page. We have the same taste and I think that’s why we work so well together. But yeah, when we got the invoice for the fairy lights that was… my little wobble.”Wobbles aside, they are both visibly excited about tying the knot in the sun, and have been getting wedding-ready in the gym. But while Molly has been hitting the weights, she’s doing it because she loves it, not because she wants to look a certain way in her dress.Article continues below“I know people, when they’re getting married, want to be a certain size or a certain weight. I just think that the person wants to be with you, not for how you look,” she reflects.“As long as you’re the healthiest and happiest version of yourself, that’s all that matters. If you feel happy and comfortable, then you’ve smashed it, that’s all you need.”Like this story?
