After a week of soul-searching, in-fighting and ugly social media fall-out, Ronaldo put his stamp on the World Cup and answered his critics with a superbly taken brace in this rout. The first was a razor-sharp piece of movement and first-time finish in the box. He was central to Portugal's second as well, showcasing his acting skills as he stood over a free-kick only for Nuno Mendes to hammer home.
