Tom Cruise in ‘Digger’

Warner Bros. has added a twist to the promotional campaign of Tom Cruise’s upcoming comedy, Digger. The studio unveiled a three-minute long retrospective trailer on Tuesday (June 23, 2026) which features snippets from the actor’s iconic movies, ending with a short glimpse into Digger, directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu.The trailer opens with Cruise’s line from Top Gun, where he says, “I feel the need. The need for speed.” Cutting next to a scene from Interview with the Vampire, Cruise as vampire Lestat says, “I assume I need no introduction”. The retrospective trailer then goes on featuring action-packed glimpses from Mission: Impossible, Edge of Tomorrow, The Last Samurai, Collateral, Minority Report and Tropic Thunder along with dramatic dialogues from Magnolia, Jerry Maguire and Rain Man.The tribute trailer ends with a short sneak peek into Cruise’s Digger, as he speaks with a Southern accent and carries his paunch with a peculiar walk. He is seen entering an arena with people cheering for him. Cruise plays Digger Rockwell, an oil baron, in the film, which is described by the makers as “a comedy of catastrophic proportions”.Sharing the retrospective trailer on X, Cruise wrote, “For the last 46 years, it has been my privilege to work alongside countless talented artists and crews to create these characters, stories, and films for you all.
