US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor was speaking as the Guest of Honour in the US Consulate General Chennai’s on the occasion of the US National Day.
Tamil Nadu is already ‘on the map’ in the US but the intention is to take this collaboration to the next level, according to the US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor.Gor was speaking as the Guest of Honour in the US Consulate General Chennai’s on the occasion of the US National Day.“Our consulate in Chennai, our embassy in Delhi, and every American here who works for the United States government is willing to work with every single individual here and across the entire country. Our embassy is open for business, and we want to work with you and take this relationship to the next level,” he added.The event also saw the presence of Mariana L Neisuler, US Consul General in Chennai and Aadhav Arjuna Minister for Public Works and Sports Development, Government of Tamil Nadu who highlighted the depth of the U.S.-India relationship and potential for even stronger cooperation in strategic technologies, engineering, and sports.The celebration also featured the unveiling of a Space Experiential Learning Center, which will be permanently housed and open to the public at the American Center in Chennai starting next month.The Ripon Building in Chennai was lit in red, white, and blue in honour of US independence day celebrations.Published on June 24, 2026
