MANILA, Philippines – The outages of three major coal plants continued to strain the Visayas power supply, prompting another yellow alert on Wednesday.
The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines placed the Visayas grid under yellow alert from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. as available supply risked falling short of demand.

As of 8 a.m., available capacity stood at 2,542 MW, against a peak demand of 2,362 MW.
