MANILA, Philippines — Lava continues to spill out of Mayon Volcano in Albay for the 170th consecutive day on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

According to state seismologists, lava effusion with lava flow was again recorded early Wednesday from 2:20 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.

“Effusive eruption of Mayon Volcano continues for its 170th consecutive day, generating incandescent lava flows, pyroclastic density currents (PDCs), locally known as “uson,” and rockfalls,” Phivolcs said in an advisory.
