She has a neck the size of an adult human, legs that are just as long and an unforgettable coat. And she’s missing. The search for Gracie, a giraffe who disappeared from the Texas ranch where she is one of two such animals, is expected to continue this week after a tip failed to help track her down Tuesday, the property’s manager said in an interview.Gracie’s owner is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to her capture and safe return, officials in Real County said. The Cedar Hollow Ranch in Texas is searching for a missing giraffe named Gracie. She was last seen on a game camera west of Leakey, roughly 100 miles northwest of San Antonio, according to the officials.Vick Jones, manager of Cedar Hollow Ranch, said Gracie is 3 or 4 years old and has been at the property since May. The ranch is home to a couple hundred animals, including impalas, Nubian ibexes and an antelope found in Central Africa.Gracie vanished after feeding on a hillside where the ranch’s other giraffes have typically not ventured, Jones said. She then found her way to an unfenced area on the opposite side of an 8-foot-tall gate and left the ranch, Jones said.Jones said he searched an area Tuesday roughly 4 miles from the ranch after a tipster shared photos with him. But the pictures were from a few days ago and she wasn’t there, he said. The search will continue “until we get her home,” he said. “Everybody in the whole world seems to be looking for her.”
