FIFA president Gianni Infantino has confirmed that United States President Donald Trump will attend the FIFA 2026 World Cup final and take part in presenting the trophy to the winning team.

Trump is yet to attend a match since the tournament kicked off on June 11, but could still make an appearance before the final, scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The World Cup is being co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, with the U.S. staging 78 of the 104 matches.

“We will be together with the president, enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner, of course,” Infantino told Fox, describing Trump as a close associate.
