Aegiq Launches New Sheffield Headquarters and Expands Semiconductor Partnership for Photonic Scaling

UK-based photonic quantum computing developer Aegiq has opened its new corporate headquarters in Sheffield, establishing a localized center of excellence dedicated to scaling its full-stack quantum hardware platform. The operational expansion aligns with Aegiq’s multi-million-pound investment roadmap over the next five years, which is projected to introduce highly skilled engineering, graduate, and early-career roles to South Yorkshire’s advanced manufacturing corridor. Supported by the UK Government’s £2 billion national quantum capability framework, the facility anchors Aegiq within a sovereign domestic supply chain focused on delivering hardware-native quantum simulation, secure telecommunications, and defense-sector computing platforms.
