Katie Price has opened up about her surprise at Gareth Gates featuring on her upcoming documentary series decades after the pair's fling20:59, 23 Jun 2026Katie Price has admitted she is stunned to see Gareth Gates open up about their romance on camera. The former Pop Idol star famously had a fling with the former glamour model while she was pregnant with Harvey in 2002.‌Now Gareth, 41, is discussing their dalliance for Katie's new documentary - much to her surprise. Gareth is thought to have lost his virginity to the star at the time after rising to fame aged just 17. However, he rarely discusses their hook up.‌Now, though, he is appearing on the Sky documentary, Katie Price: Nothing To Hide. The four-part series looks at Katie's life and she revealed she was shocked to hear the singer would be a part of it.‌At the official launch of the series, Katie, 48, told the crowd: "Imagine meeting someone 25 years ago and then they sort of ghost you. You don’t know why and then you go forward 25 years and then you get the answers."She went on: "Because he had thought I’d done something which I didn’t do and now, he finds out, it really wasn’t me. The shock on his face and the shock on mine – everyone was like, ‘you and Gareth, that was the one that got away!’.”‌Gareth had admitted that he would "never" have made such a public statement about her regarding something so private.He said: "I haven't ever spoken about relationships. I believe that relationships are between two people and I couldn't believe that somebody else was selling stories about very, very intimate details. I was shocked."But I learned a lot about the industry, and trust. I would never have done that to her or anybody else. It was a real learning curve for me."‌Speaking to former TOWIE star Jamie Laing on the Great Company podcast last month, Gareth said: "It was a shame because she's a really, really lovely girl but I couldn't believe that somebody could do that. I became very wary of trusting people after that because that was such a big thing, on a massive, massive scale.‌"It was everywhere. It became the main thing that everyone wanted to know about. It was a shame I had to talk about it when I just wanted to be an artist. That was tough. It made me extremely wary."Gareth isn't the only one of Katie's exes that will appear on the new series. Alex Reid also gives a stern message to his former partner. His reaction was shown in a bombshell trailer for the documentary.Alex, 50, was married to Katie for under a year after tying the knot just seven months after meeting. Katie had explained how she married Alex "too soon" and she later revealed his cross-dressing was a major factor in their split.
