Most of the time, you'll be paying full price for a Switch 2. It's for that reason that this deal caught my attention. Instead of slashing the console's price tag, Amazon is offering your choice of a major first-party game at no extra cost. Also: Prime Day 2026: Live updates on Garmin, Lenovo, Apple and other tech dealsYou can pick between Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia. To get the most out of this deal, I recommend getting Mario Kart World, which normally retails for $80. The other two titles retail for $70 each. You can go wrong with either of those three choices. I would personally get Donkey Kong Bananza for its action-packed gameplay, but all are solid. Pokopia is a slower-paced social simulation game in which you build a little town inhabited by Pokémon. The Nintendo Switch 2 builds on everything that made the original system successful, delivering the type of hardware upgrades longtime fans have wanted for years. It now sports a larger 7.9-inch LCD touchscreen with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz. When docked, the system can output 4K resolution on compatible monitors and games. The real star of the show is the custom Nvidia hardware. Both companies did a great job at developing a powerful CPU/GPU duo that can run the latest AAA games. I didn't think it would've been possible for the Switch 2 to support graphically demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Street Fighter 6, or Final Fantasy VII Remake. I was happily proven wrong. Also: Samsung will give you a free monitor when you buy the Odyssey Neo G9 on sale - how to get oneNintendo's Joy-Con 2 controllers are also a big step from their previous generation. They're larger than the original Joy-Cons, allowing for more comfortable hand positions. The controllers attach to the system with strong magnets and come with special sensors that let them double as computer mice in certain games. Another feature I love about the Switch 2 is its backward compatibility. The vast majority of Switch 1 games run on the newer consoles, so you can continue enjoying your current library without starting over from scratch. In fact, certain original Switch titles receive free performance updates to run smoother on the Switch 2.How I rated this deal As ZDNET's rating system, I grant this deal a 2/5. Yeah, that's not a high score, but you have to remember that bundle savings for the Switch 2 are rare. Rarer than a MacBook deal in my experience. Getting a major first-party title for free with the console is a smart way to buy this console. I highly recommend acting fast. Prime Day will continue to last for a few more days, but I don't think this deal will. Amazon's Prime Day event runs Tuesday, June 23 to Friday, June 26, 2026. The event was shifted up from its usual July timeframe.
