New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday targeted Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav and dared him to order a judicial inquiry into the media expose about his family purchasing huge land parcels in parts of Ujjain which were earmarked for infrastructure development and how the land use category has been changed to allow commercial use of agricultural land. Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Jitu Patwaria demanded at a presser in Bhopal a response from the CM of the BJP-ruled state to the media expose. "The chief minister has turned the holy city of Ujjain into a part of a land scam racket. Mr Mohan Yadav, tell the country. Is it true that after you became CM, your family and the companies associated with them acquired 168 acres of land by purchasing 137 plots? Nearly 111 acres of land were bought in areas marked for projects. Is this merely a coincidence? Will the government publicly release the list of all the approvals given for change in land use for those projects where your family purchased land? Will you announce that a judicial inquiry into this land deal issue will be conducted by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court," he asked.Taking a swipe at PM Narendra Modi, the PCC president quipped, "Theft of donations in Ayodhya, robbery of land in Ujjain. Narendra Modi, who says 'Na khaunga, Na khane dunga' ('neither will eat loot nor allow others to do so') has given full licence to both."
