New Delhi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the alleged irregularities in donations at Ayodhya-based Ram temple, submitted its preliminary report to the UP government on Tuesday morning.The three-member SIT team, comprising Vijay Vishwas Pant, Commissioner of the Lucknow Division, and two other members, met Sanjay Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) and submitted the preliminary report to him.Vijay Vishwas Pant said this is just a preliminary report. On June 13, the UP government had constituted the SIT on the request of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.The SIT, which is examining all aspects of this matter and carrying out a comprehensive investigation, will continue its probe. The SIT is likely to submit its final report within the coming two weeks.Although the preliminary findings of the SIT could not be immediately known, the report is believed to have highlighted alleged lapses in handling the donation money.
