Trump Says He'll Sue ABC Over Its Reporting On The Reflecting Pool Renovations: 'I Like Their Money'In a post on his Truth Social platform on Monday evening, President Donald Trump threatened to sue ABC News over its reporting on his failed renovation work at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.Trump accused ABC of failing to report on the costs past administrations incurred to maintain the pool. The president's post also referenced his previous settlement with ABC. As part of that, the network agreed to give $15 million toward Trump's presidential library to settle a lawsuit the president brought against its anchor, George Stephanopoulos."We are preparing lawsuits against ABC for false reporting. I like their money, which will be given to the U.S. Treasury!" Trump wrote.Trump had previously singled out ABC's Jonathan Karl on Friday, accusing the journalist of "sticking his hand into the Pool, and trying to rip the rubber off of the surface."The president, at the time, apparently took issue with an ABC News segment featuring Karl visiting the landmark and pulling a chunk of paint that had peeled away. "The $14 million job to redo the bottom of this reflecting pool is falling apart before our eyes," the journalist said in the segment.Latest Live Updates40 People Drown In France Amid Scorching Heat WaveAt least 40 people drowned in France over a 5-day span as Europe faces a record-breaking heatwave, the country’s prime minister said. “They are the first victims of the crisis we are facing,” said French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu.France saw it's hottest night on record from Monday to Tuesday, with temperatures reaching almost 80 degrees. Decades In Prison For Activists Convicted In Anti-Antifa Terrorism TrialMultiple activists convicted of terrorism charges in Texas were sentenced to decades in prison Tuesday in a case that’s come to represent the Trump administration’s efforts to target anti-fascists.Eight defendants in the so-called “Prairieland” case, which concerns an anti-ICE protest in Texas last year that ended with one man firing a gun at a police officer, were sentenced to between 30 and 100 years in federal prison.“The need to deter this type of conduct is high,” U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor said in court Tuesday, the Associated Press reported.Only one defendant – Benjamin Song, who got the only 100-year sentence – actually fired a shot that day, during what had otherwise been a “noise demonstration” outside Prairieland Detention Facility, an ICE jail in Alvarado, Texas. (The officer survived, and Song argued he fired the shot to prevent a police shooting; his attorney said Tuesday that Song fired “suppressive fire,” and that an officer had been hit by a ricochet bullet, the AP noted.)Others had launched fireworks – the demonstration was on July 4 – or vandalized cars, but the government worked to tie the defendants together, charging eight with material support for terrorism and a ninth defendant, who was not present at the demonstration, with corruptly concealing documents, for his alleged movement of zines and other materials. That defendant, Daniel Sanchez-Estrada, received a 30-year sentence Tuesday.Others received 50- or 70-year sentences.Though there is no domestic terrorism law, the Trump administration has labeled “antifa” – slang for anti-fascist, and sometimes a shorthand to refer to decentralized local activist groups – as a terrorist organization, and used the designation to target attempts to silence domestic groups and individuals. It Kinda Looks Like Trump Might Be Taking An Experimental Obesity Drug? There’s only one person in the country the FDA has granted access to retatrutide on a “compassionate use” basis: a man who was 79 at the time of his application in April, whose application was personally overseen by a senior doctor at the National Institutes of Health and subsequently approved by the FDA.WATCH: The MAGAfication of John FettermanRumors are swirling around Capitol Hill: Will the Pennsylvania senator switch parties?Bob Iger Defends Suspension Of Jimmy Kimmel After 'Ill-Timed' Charlie Kirk RemarksDisney CEO Bob Iger said his decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel and temporarily take him off the air over the comedian's remarks after the assassination of Charlie Kirk was not politically-motivated."That was not the case . . . "The 350 foot gash, made by a very sharp knife or razors, is actually numerous slashes over a very long 350 foot length," Trump wrote Tuesday on Truth Social. "It was purposefully and criminally done, and somebody had to work very hard, probably in the dark of night, to create such a condition."Trump also shared photos of the pool that he said were taken Tuesday morning. With its renovation, the Reflecting Pool is going through it. Its paint is peeling, and the water is turning green from algae growth. Trump is claiming it's because of vandalism, but hasn't provided any evidence. See All Updates
