New Delhi: After the retirement of Digvijaya Singh, Congress MP Mukul Wasnik has been appointed as chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports.Singh's tenure as a Rajya Sabha MP ended on June 21. Wasnik's tenure as a member and chairman of the panel started from June 22. "The Chairman, Rajya Sabha, has nominated Shri Mukul Balkrishna Wasnik, member, Rajya Sabha, to be a member of the department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports and also appointed him to be its chairman w.e.f. 22nd June, 2026..." a notification from the RS secretariat said.
