But as he proudly took the award on behalf of GB News Breakfast, he was heckled from some in the crowd. After using a wheelchair ramp to access the stage, Eamonn expressed his gratitude to the production team and viewers. But, the moment was marred by audible boos from some of those in attendance following the announcement of GB News Breakfast's win.Despite the mixed reaction, the Northern Irishman amonn delivered a touching tribute to fellow presenter Charli Peters, who had earlier won the News Presenter award for his investigative work on grooming gangs in the UK.And he also paid tribute to a colleague, but the end of his speech became awkward after an audience member heckled for Eamonn to ‘get off'.While it wasn't known if Eamonn heard the heckling, he concluded his speech warmly. He said: "For the thousands of people who voted, that is brilliant for us so we say thank you, thank you, thank you, to anyone who did bother to vote."His latest no show comes as the GB News presenter, 66, continues to deal with health woes which have left him in a wheelchair. In April, Eamonn suffered a stroke, but told fans at the time he was okay.In 2016, Eamonn also underwent surgery for both hips to alleviate chronic hip, leg, and back pain. But while recovering, he fell down the stairs of his home and fractured his shoulder. He then suffered from a painful viral infection. At the time, he attributed it to stress from a tax dispute with HMRC. The infection caused a severe rash on his face and had the potential to affect his eyesight. In May 2022, he had severe spinal issues that led to bladder and bowel problems and a nine-day hospital stay. And in November 2022 he suffered a fall at his Surrey home, fracturing his shoulder, which required another operation. He continues to explore various treatments, including spinal injections and considering stem cell replacement therapy, in an ongoing effort to regain mobility.Article continues belowLike this story?
