On the occasion of the anniversary of the Center of Special Operations “Alpha” of the Security Service of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky honored the unit’s soldiers with state awards and presented an award to the family of a fallen hero who was posthumously awarded this title.

According to Ukrinform, the president wrote about this on Telegram.

“Today marks 32 years of the SSU’s Center of Special Operations, 'Alpha,' and I am grateful to you for strengthening the Center, the Security Service of Ukraine, and our entire state every year. I presented state awards to the warriors of the SSU’s Center of Special Operations “Alpha” and handed over an award to the family of a fallen Hero who was honored with this title posthumously,” the president wrote.

He noted that over the years of full-scale defense, the SSU has become one of the world’s strongest special services, and a large part of this achievement is due specifically to “Alpha.”

“I thank every Alpha warrior for your service! I thank everyone who supports you and helps you. I thank your families for raising such outstanding Ukrainian warriors! And we must always remember each and every one of them: all Ukrainian defenders who gave their lives in this war, defending our independence, so that Ukraine could live,” Zelensky added.
