Gabriele Maltinti/Getty ImagesJune 23, 2026 Updated 12:58 pm EDTMarco Palestra’s future is set to be decided in the coming days, with Inter Milan facing major competition from Chelsea and another Premier League side for one of Europe’s most promising players.The 21-year-old spent last season on loan from Atalanta at Cagliari and was named Serie A defender of the year.His rise has attracted a host of top clubs and Inter have been working to land the Italy international for €45million plus €5m in bonuses but an agreement has yet to be reached between the clubs.
Palestra made 37 appearances on loan at Cagliari last term, scoring one goal.He has two caps for his country, having made his international debut in March of this year.Any move to Inter would see Palestra return to the club where he spent a year in the academy before moving to Atalanta.He made his senior debut for the club in December 2023 and has gone on to make 16 appearances for the first team.
