June 23 (UPI) -- Firefighters, parks officials and animal rescuers teamed up in Alberta to rescue a deer stuck between the bars of a metal fence.
Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue said on social media that a caller in Banff reported the young buck stuck in a fence, and the person said they had already informed Parks Canada.
The rescue contacted the Banff Fire Department, which had to get approval from Parks Canada to conduct a rescue.
The firefighters ended up teaming up with Parks Canada Reservation Service personnel to rescue the deer.
A video shared by Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue shows the team using a hydraulic spreader, also known as the Jaws of Life, to spread the bars of the fence until the deer could fit through.
