For me, reviewing any new Apple Watch is a familiar experience that requires very little (if any) learning curve. My process typically begins the same way every year: I take off last year’s model to strap on the newly released one, and away I go, using the next-gen version the exact same way I used yesterday’s. Series X becomes Series Y — again … and again.

But this time around felt a little different. Yes, almost 90% of my experience with the Apple Watch Series 11 mirrored my time with the Series 10, but there was one major upgrade that forced me to adjust my tried-and-true Apple Watch routine (in a good way): its longer-lasting, 24-hour battery. It’s a feature I — and, likely, many others — have wanted in an Apple watch for generations, and it’s finally been delivered.

I liked everything else the Series 11 offers too, even if it mostly felt like a Series 10 with improved battery life. So, is there enough there to warrant an upgrade? If you have an older Apple watch, absolutely, but if you’ve already upgraded in the last two years, then maybe not. Regardless, the Series 11 is an impressive new flagship for Apple, and the Apple Watch remains one of the best smartwatches you can buy.
