I’m not really a wear-earbuds-to-bed person, but after two weeks of heavy snoozing with Soundcore’s new Sleep A30, I just might become one. These unobtrusive buds retain the great comfort and sound library that made the Sleep A20 some of the best sleep headphones around while adding proper active noise cancellation to put up an even stronger fight against loud snorers, noisy neighbors and your pet’s insistence on licking themselves at 3 a.m.

When you factor in their sleep tracking capabilities, excellent battery life and a robust library of customizable sounds to nod off to, you’ll find an extremely strong contender for the new sleep earbuds champ. But are they worth a $230 investment? Here’s what I think after many evenings spent nodding off to sweet rain sounds instead of my dog’s snores.

My favorite thing about the Sleep A30 is that I legitimately forget they’re in my ears every morning I wake up with them. Soundcore claims these sleep buds are 7% slimmer than their already-sleek predecessors, a change that allows for a wonderfully light, low-profile design that makes it easy to sleep on your side without any unwanted pressure or accidental touch inputs. They’re pretty secure too; in the two weeks I’ve been sleeping with them, I can recall exactly one instance where a bud fell out of my ear. That certainly pales in comparison to the number of times I’ve dislodged AirPods during a midday snooze. And on the rare occasion that a bud does pop out, you can use the Find Device feature to play a chime on it that was loud enough that I could easily locate it.
