TMC rebels remove Mamata Banerjee as party chief, announce new leadership
The crisis within the Trinamool Congress has intensified, with rebel leaders announcing a new leadership team and removing Mamata Banerjee as party chief. Former minister Arup Roy has been named chairman, while Ritabrata Banerjee has been appointed general secretary. The Mamata camp has rejected the move, insisting there can be no Trinamool Congress without its founder. The rebel faction claims the support of 65 MLAs and says it will soon inform the Election Commission about the leadership changes, deepening the political turmoil in West Bengal. #MamataBanerjee #TMC #WestBengal
