The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced that a Nigerian national, Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, will soon be deported from the U.S. over allegations of overstaying and criminal offences.
Ajayi was accused of overstaying his student visa and compiling what the agency described as a lengthy criminal record.
In a post published on X on Monday night, June 22, 2026, ICE said Ajayi entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa but failed to leave the country after abandoning his studies.
According to the agency, Ajayi remained in the U.S. illegally and was subsequently involved in multiple criminal cases, including rape, kidnapping, domestic violence, intimidation, amongst other criminal offences.
ICE stated, “Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, of Nigeria, entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa and eventually left school, but failed to leave the country.
